Annual Yoakum FFA, 4-H livestock show set
The annual Yoakum FFA and 4-H Project show will be Friday and Saturday at the Yoakum Rodeo Arena, 1803 N. South St.
Yoakum High School agriculture teacher and FFA adviser Jay Mixon said to expect a quality show, although the number of entrants is down somewhat.
"We are few in number, but the quality will be fantastic," he said.
The numbers remained about the same in some categories with six steers entered and 15 goats, the same as last year.
There will be five pens of broilers, 12 pens of rabbits and 19 hogs in the market show, all down slightly from last year.
The market show begins at 6 p.m. Friday with the broiler show followed by goats at 7 p.m. and rabbits at 8 p.m.
Saturday's activities will begin at 8 a.m. with the market hog show. The steer show is slated for 10:30 a.m.
An awards program will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the market sale at 7 p.m.
A concession stand will be open throughout the event.
