4 Victoria Police Department employees retire

The Victoria Police Department said farewell to more than 99 years of service Wednesday as four employees retired from the department. Det. Travis Stillwell began his career with Victoria Police Department in 1990, arriving with four years of prior service with the Castle Hills Police Department. Stillwell served as a patrol officer and then as a detective on the assault team during his more than 23 years with the the department. Nancy Anders worked at the Telephone Response Unit, first as a technician and retired as a supervisor with 20 years of service with the department. Lucy Cruz joined the police department in 1987 as a records clerk and retired from the Support Services Division. Lt. Michael Beyer joined the police department in November of 1985 after working at the City Service Center and retired from with 30 years of service to the city. His various assignments included patrol, investigation and filling in as acting captain.
