"Jesus saith unto them, 'Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.' Simon Peter went up and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken."
- John 21:10-11
In order to find my Scripture that God seemed to want me to write about, I went to my computer and Googled "fishes." I think our Lord must have loved fishing as much as I do.
After Jesus was crucified, buried and rose up from the grave, He appeared to His disciples on the beach. On that morning, Jesus told Simon Peter and the rest of the disciples to bring the fish. Jesus had built a beach wood fire. He then said, "Come and dine."
My very best fishing day was at the channel at Port Aransas. I was fishing with two of my friends, and we caught a total of 153 golden croakers and sand trout.
The fish bit on almost anything that was lime green in color. We sometimes even caught two at a time. That was a wonderful fishing memory.
Dear Lord, thank You for knowing us so well and for keeping us in your heart. Thank You for sharing your beach with us. Thanks also for letting us catch 153 fish.
