Candace Paige Nowlin and Hudson Wayne High were united in marriage at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco with Reverend Johnny Polk officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert G. Nowlin of Waco. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith of Waco, Mrs. C.V. Nowlin of Vernon and the late Mr. C.V. Nowlin.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly W. High of Victoria. He is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Longbotham of Clyde and the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy High of Victoria.
Paige, presented in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her father, wore an ivory Paloma Blanca gown of dupioni silk, traditionally styled with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The drop bodice a-line skirt was detailed with wide box pleats, attached to a graceful chapel length train.
Hillary Kunz attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Bailey, Christiana Blades, Bethany Brenneman, Audrey High and Elisabeth High, sisters of the groom, Jorie Luecken, Tara McMullen, Elizabeth Trumbo and Lindsey Warner. Alexa Brockett, cousin of the bride, Madison and Ellison High, sisters of the groom, served in the house party. Flower girls were Anna Brockett and Caroline Krone, both cousins of the bride.
Barret Stillings served as best man. Groomsmen were Blake Bradley, Brandon Carreker, Harrison High, brother of the groom, Tyler Janik, Tucker King, Jeremy McCasland, Patrick Nowlin, brother of the bride, Caleb Ryon, and Blake Vaughan. Jackson Rich served as ring bearer.
A reception followed the ceremony at Ridgewood Country Club. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Vitek's BBQ.
Grazioso String Quartet, organist, James Kimmel, trumpeter, Brad Cates, and soloist Clare Berlinksy provided music during the ceremony. Kelsey O'Neill read scripture. The band, Limelight, provided music at the reception. The newlyweds danced to "How Sweet It Is", then the bride danced with her father to "Brown Eyed Girl", followed by the groom and his mother to "My Wish".
The bride is a 2008 graduate of Vanguard College Preparatory School and a 2012 graduate of Baylor University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Paige is working on her Master's in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Kansas and expects to graduate in May 2014.
The groom is a 2008 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Hudson is currently employed with Ford Motor Company as an Industrial Engineering Specialist.
After a honeymoon in Puerto Rico, Hudson and Paige will reside in Kansas City, Kansas.
