Editor, the Advocate:
I would like to commend Portia Schneider for her letter to the editor Jan. 18.
All of her expressions were from her heart. I read some of the comments on her letter, and some of them were very negative. I guess it really hit close to home for the nonbelievers. If you don't believe in God or the Bible, that is your right. But I would like to know if you have ever read the Bible. Some people say it is not true; that it was just written by men. The Bible is the written word of God given to men by God.
All religions are not the same. Buddhists, Muslims and some other religions do not believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus is the reason we celebrate His birth at Christmas and honor Him at Easter for dying on the cross for our sins. Some of the people commented that there is no hell. That is also your right, but that doesn't mean it is not so.
I don't understand nonbelievers. Look around you and see all of God's creations. He created you and loves you. Just give Him a chance, and you will enjoy a feeling of peace that you have never felt before.
