The University of Houston-Victoria School of Business Administration online bachelor's degree recently was ranked first in Texas and No. 8 in the nation on a list of affordable online degrees compiled by GetEducated.com.
The UHV Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in health care, management and marketing were highlighted as "Best Buys" for students seeking a high quality, low-cost online business degree.
Cost often is a major factor for students choosing to get a higher education, UHV President Phil Castille said.
"UHV is able to reach a broad group of highly motivated students because we offer an affordable, accessible, accredited education that can be taken from anywhere in the world, although most of our online students are in southeast Texas," he said.
The GetEducated.com Business Administration "Best Buy" ranking is based on a national survey of 76 regionally accredited colleges that offer 126 different online bachelor's degrees in business administration.
The average cost of an online business bachelor's degree is $47,472, according to GetEducated.com. A UHV Bachelor of Business Administration degree costs less than $25,000 for Texas residents, not including financial aid.
GetEducated.com first recognized UHV in 2004. It currently ranks the business school's Master of Business Administration program fourth in the U.S. and the Strategic MBA No. 25 as best buys.
