2 men hurt in rollover (w/video)

Department of Public Safety Trooper Jeremiah Collins crawls out of the cab of a tanker truck that veered off U.S. Highway 59 onto the median and flipped onto its side. Two El Campo men injured Thursday morning in a wreck on U.S. Highway 59 North were later treated and released from a hospital.

A witness told troopers that a tanker truck headed south on U.S. Highway 59 toward Inez was cut off by another driver entering the roadway and rolled into the ditch, said Trooper Jeremiah Collins.

The truck driver, Jeremy Weathers, born in 1984, and the passenger, McCoy Cash, born in 1985, were transported to Citizens Medical Center, Trooper Vern Sterry said.

The truck, which is owned by Pak Petroleum Marketing, was not carrying anything, Sterry said.

The cause of the crash, which occurred about 11:30 a.m. Thursday, is under investigation.
