"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers; for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
- Hebrews 13:2
At the beginning of this week, I had a phone call. It was a lady calling, and she asked, "Are you the lady that writes 'Oceans for Emotions' that is in the Victoria Advocate on Saturday?"
Feeling especially silly, I asked her, "Do you like it or not?" She said, "I love it, and I look forward to it every week."
I replied, "If you were calling to complain, that it is not theologically sound, I would answer, 'I don't even know Elaine Wheat. But since you like it, I will claim that for some unknown reason God has chosen this theological dummy to speak through.'"
My new phone friend, after promising that she is not a terrorist, asked if she could bring me something. When my new friend, Peggy, came to my door, I asked her in, and she gave me a fishing jacket.
Peggy then explained that recently, when she saw a little fishing angel patch, she immediately thought of me. So, she bought a jacket and sewed this little fishing angel patch onto it.
I love my jacket and can't wait to wear it and catch some fish. I will then go by Peggy's shop called "Peggy T's Creations" and tell her that she is my angel.
Dear Lord, help me to live my life like I am expecting angels to drop by and be entertained by me.If you would like to buy the book "Oceans for Emotions," please call the Victoria Advocate.
