Sharon Enriquez, of Alamo Beach, hands Christopher Davis, of Victoria, the money order he intended to use for rent that was found at Magnolia Beach while volunteers were doing a cleanup Saturday. "This is one of the good things about volunteers cleaning the beach up," she said. Davis had already tried to cancel the money order but was going to have to wait about 30 days for a refund.

Volunteers cleaning Magnolia Beach after July Fourth festivities found a $420 money order that was Victoria resident Christopher Davis' rent.

Sharon Enriquez, of Alamo Beach, returned the money order to Davis, who was happy to receive it Tuesday.

"I'm glad honesty is still around," Davis said. "I've never lost that much money at one time."

Enriquez said returning the check and helping someone was an added benefit of the beach cleanup.

"I've done something good today," she said.
