Residents camp out for 'mor chikin' at reopening

July 10, 2014 at 2:10 a.m.

Ashley Fajkus, left, and her mother, Heather Fajkus, of Victoria, pulled an all-nighter in an epic summer bonding experience camping out in the Chick-fil-A parking lot Wednesday night. They were No. 27 and No. 28 in a group of 100 participants who will now receive free Chick-fil-A meals for one year with coupons redeemable at any Chick-fil-A location. Chick-fil-A on North Navarro Street celebrated its grand reopening and remodel with this overnight campout, at which people enjoyed 12 hours of music, games and sweet tea. The most memorable part? The water sprinkler woke them up at 4 a.m. followed by chicken minis for breakfast.
