Editor, the Advocate:
I recently submitted a guest column acknowledging and thanking those involved in the May 28 house explosion.
As I stated in the column, I knew that I would forget to mention someone. It has come to my attention that I failed to recognize one organization that has assisted us many times in the past.
The Victoria Civilian Fire Academy Alumni Association is a group of volunteers who respond to support the fire department in emergencies. It is a nonprofit group that donates time, money and whatever we need on scene. It had volunteers on scene from the beginning until late into the evening.
I want to apologize to those who spent many hours out there handing out food, water, Gatorade and snacks to the firefighters and investigators. I appreciate your assistance, and I hope to continue counting on your service.
Again, for my oversight of your involvement, I humbly apologize.
Ron W. Pray, Victoria County fire marshal, Victoria
