One Victoria man is $6,731.55 richer as result of checking his mail.
The direct-mail campaign was devised from a partnership between Victory Honda and Fat Win Promotion Co.
Mark Gibbs, of Victoria, was presented a check at the dealership Monday by Bob Struzynski, general manager of Victory Honda.
"It really hasn't hit me yet that I actually won something like this," said Gibbs.
The direct-mail campaign ran more than two weeks, and only 200 people out of the 10,000 recipients came into the dealership to check on the prize kiosks to see if they won a prize, said Struzynski. Recipients could win prizes including TVs, barbecue grills and Amazon.com gift cards.
Gibbs was the winner of the progressive jackpot prize, which eventually rose to $6,731.55.
"It's funny how people will spend tons of money on things like the lottery and win nothing, when in reality your winnings could be sitting right there in your pile of mail, free of charge," said Struzynski.
Victory Honda wants to continue giving money to the community, he said. Plans are in the works for the dealership to start another mailing campaign soon.
