CUERO

July 18

Receipts: 1,183

Had 109 cows and 21 bulls. The packer market was consistent with last week's huge rise in prices. These levels are almost unbelievable, but with limited supplies and a huge demand they should continue.

The calf market was essentially quite a bit stronger than last week. Some of the bigger steers were $5 to $6 higher while the heifer replacement market continues to dominate. Even the bottom side of the calf market is $1 to $2 higher. Overall, a good, solid day. The average weight of calves has been getting higher each week resulting in higher values per head.
