Shiner Heritage Quilters host youth quilt class

Nine students attended the annual beginner youth quilt class sponsored by the Shiner Heritage Quilters from  July 14 to 17. Nine students attended the annual beginner youth quilt class sponsored by the Shiner Heritage Quilters from July 14 to 17.

Beverly Svetlik chaired the project and was assisted by Mathilda Melner, Sherrie Holland, Kathy Andrews, Bernadette Kresta, Mary Shafer, RaeNell Janik, Carolyn Schroeder, Marilyn Schroeder, JoAnn Winkenwerder, Kathy Riske, Theresa Belicek, Charlene Oehl, Annette Meyers, Karen Hermes, Diane Lott, Gladys Muehlstein and Irene Cerny.

The students learned many piecing, quilting and finishing techniques as they constructed their own wall hangings. Shiner Heritage Quilters provided all the fabric, instructions and tender loving care.

The Square Quilter in Shiner assisted with supplies, Lone Star Bank of Shiner donated bags, Gary Svetlik helped with the setup, and the Shiner First United Methodist Church provided the Fellowship Hall for the classes.
