Though her freshman season at UHV is over, Heather Shake has continued to compete in golf tournaments.
Shake was eliminated Thursday in the semifinals of the Women's Texas Golf Association's State Amateur Championships at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas.
The Pearland native entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed but didn't make the finals after falling 3 to 1 to fourth-seeded Portland Rosen.
Shake earned the top seed for the match play portion by tying for first in a stroke play competition Monday with a score of 1-over 72, according to a release.
Shake won three back-to-back matches Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to land in the semifinal against Rosen.
Ali Cowan, another UHV golfer, played in the tournament.
Cowan won her first match 4 to 2 before falling to Rosen in the second match Wednesday.
