A special thanks to those behind the scenes

I recently had the opportunity to play The Beast in Theatre Victoria's production of "Beauty and the Beast." It was a wonderful experience, and the support from our community was overwhelming. But there is a particular group to whom I would like to offer a very special thanks.
Behind the scenes, up in the fly lofts and in the booth are a group of dedicated people who never get to come out and take a bow. They work tirelessly to create a beautiful show, yet they are the unsung heroes of theater. They haul us around on set pieces and pull us in and out of costumes. They call queues and operate sound equipment and light boards. They create and set up props and offer us water as we enter and exit stage. They frantically move us from villages to forests and into castles. But they wear black and remain invisible to the thousands of patrons who watch the show. All in all, there were almost as many people working backstage as there were on stage.
It reveals a special type of virtue to work so hard for the purpose of making other people look good. So to the crew of "Beauty and the Beast," I thank you from the bottom of my transformed heart.
