The driver of a Ford Explorer that rolled on Southwest Moody Street is loaded into an ambulance.

A single-car rollover on Southwest Moody Street just south of Lower Mission Valley Road sent one man to a hospital about 9:10 a.m. Friday, said Victoria Police Department Detective Jerry Sepulveda.

Ernest Valdez, 39, of Victoria, was driving south when he abruptly turned left, crossed the highway, hit the grassy shoulder and rolled his Ford Explorer.

Valdez claimed his tires locked up, but Sepulveda could not confirm the mechanical problem.

Valdez was taken to Citizens Medical Center.

A witness, Peggy Priz, said Valdez had a cut on one of his legs.

Valdez received a citation for having an invalid driver's license, Sepulveda said.
