Three people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon east of Yorktown.

A passenger, Jesse O'Berry, 18, was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in San Antonio, and the drivers went to Citizens Medical Center, where they were treated and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

O'Berry's condition could not be confirmed.

Joe Flores, the driver of the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, was westbound about 2:45 p.m. on state Highway 72 when he attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him and struck an eastbound 2013 Dodge Avenger, driven by Christopher Pena, 28, according to Department of Public Safety crash report.

Officials closed a section of the state Highway 72 between Pete Jablonski and Woods roads for about an hour while state troopers investigated the wreck.
