Alcohol factor in Port Lavaca stabbing death, official says

A man who was stabbed to death in Port Lavaca was homeless but had been staying with the man charged with his death for about a month, said Detective Colin Rangnow.
Rangnow of the Port Lavaca Police Department, was in Austin on Monday for the autopsy of 53-year-old Juan Antonio Soto.
Soto was stabbed once in the chest, Rangnow said.
Manuel Fuentes Jr., 75, was arrested on suspicion of murder after a witness called police about the incident at an apartment in the 600 block of North Commerce Street early Saturday.
Rangnow said he does not know why the two were arguing before Soto's death.
"It does appear that alcohol was a big factor," Rangnow said. "When officers made contact with him (Fuentes), he could barely stand up. He was pretty belligerent."
Fuentes remains in jail on $150,000 bond.
