No arrests had been made as of Monday.
Police received a call about the fight in the 1700 block of Oren Street at 12:45 a.m. Sunday.
"There were several weapons involved, including a knife and a baseball bat," said Sgt. Derek Walton of the Port Lavaca Police Department.
Gustavo Martinez, 26, of Port Lavaca, was flown by helicopter to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi.
He sustained knife wounds to his left back and front abdominal area, Walton said.
A hospital spokeswoman said he was not listed as a patient as of Monday afternoon.
