Bloomington: Eighth, fifth grade see major gains; seventh grade scores fall
Preliminary results from the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness show a 23 percentage point increase in passing rates for eighth-grade reading and math and a 23-point decrease in seventh-grade math in the Bloomington school district.
The district's largest improvements were made in the fifth and eighth grades.
High school biology saw a 19-point increase, and seventh-grade reading saw a decrease by 17 points.
Superintendent Delores Warnell and James Pieper, Bloomington High School principal, could not be reached for comment.
