PlainsCapital Bank names new region chairman, president

Gary Wilson joined PlainsCapital Bank as Coastal Bend region chairman. He is responsible for market development and management of the Coastal Bend region of Texas, with a primary focus on the Corpus Christi, Victoria and Alice markets.
Before joining PlainsCapital Bank, Wilson served as Corpus Christi market president for BBVA Compass (formerly Texas State Bank), where he worked for 12 years. He received a bachelor's of business administration in finance and marketing from Texas State University and completed the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.
Wilson is active in the local community and has served as a board member for the Food Bank of Corpus Christi and past president of the Driscoll Children's Hospital Foundation. He also served as past director of Montgomery County United Way and past president of Brownsville Boys Club.
David Barnhart joined PlainsCapital Bank as president of the Victoria branch, with more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. He is responsible for the startup, management and growth of the Victoria market and for cultivating profitable relationships and growing revenue for the bank.
Before joining PlainsCapital Bank, he served in various executive banking capacities throughout South Texas, Coastal Bend and the Crossroads. Barnhart received a Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State University and formerly served as a board member for Avance of Corpus Christi, Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, Hope of South Texas, Mission 911, Aransas County Education Foundation, Texas Maritime Museum, The Museum of the Coastal Bend and Workforce Network Inc.
