The Victoria County Genealogical Society held it monthly meeting June 9.

Plans are final for the seminar which will be held July 12 at the Victoria College Student Center. The presentation will be by Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck and will include southern migrations, locating documents before 1850 and more for family history research. There is still time to register for this informative seminar. There will be a box lunch served.

The program for the June meeting was presented by Barbara Parson Smith. "Heraldry" was the topic of the presentation. Most families had a coat of arms, but people don't know where to look for it or how it was changed through marriages to the family. Suggested reading was "Discovering Your Heraldic Past."

The July meeting will be the summer social and will be at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 2015 N. Ben Jordan St., at 6 p.m. Members are encouraged to attend and visitors welcome. For more information, call Louise Browning 361-782-2171 or president Kenneth Booth 361-575-7584.
