June 27, 2014 at 1:27 a.m.

Isai Gonzalez, 23, was driving a white 2004 Ford Explorer at 1:30 p.m. Friday when he drove into a ditch off U.S. Highway 59 to avoid a collision with another vehicle while traveling north to Edna. Gonzalez, of Edna, and his younger brother, Judah Gonzalez, 13; and father, Miguel Gonzalez, 44, were not injured in the one-vehicle, rollover wreck. Miguel Gonzalez was treated for a small cut on one of his hands at the scene of the accident. "I guess seatbelts really do work," said Gonzalez, who ironically owns his own auto shop in Edna. "I'm happy to say we're all alive." Department of Public Safety troopers said the wreck was under investigation.
