Mega Million jackpot winning ticket purchased in Moulton
The Mega Millions Lotto Texas numbers for the June 27 drawing were 15, 29, 31, 46 and 64, with a Mega Ball of 10.
Somebody in Moulton is about to be rich - super rich - because the $33 million quick pick from Friday's Mega Millions lottery jackpot was purchased at the town's grocery and market stop.
The winner, who's yet to be confirmed, elected for the cash value option and should take home a little more than $19 million, according to the Texas Lottery website.
Moulton is about 60 miles north of Victoria, between Flatonia and Shiner, with a population of fewer than 1,000 people.
The winning ticket was sold at the Moulton Grocery & Market, a gas station and minimart in the 100 block of South Lavaca Drive.
A clerk at the store declined to comment and referred all questions to the manager, who will be on duty Monday.
The ticket is the first Mega Millions jackpot winner sold in Texas since rules were revised to create longer odds and bigger jackpots in October by the 43-state lottery and marks the 11th time the Texas Lottery sold a Mega Millions jackpot-winning ticket since joining the game in December 2003, according to Megamillions.com.
Earlier this month, a Stripes convenience store in Cuero sold the winning ticket to a $36.25 million jackpot, a prize that remains unclaimed.
The fact a winner had yet to come forward was not unusual, Lotto Texas spokeswoman Kelly Cripe said in an email.
The winner has 180 days to claim the prize.
Even though a winner has yet to come forward to claim the prize, the Cuero Stripes store on East Morgan Avenue will receive a $362,500 bonus for selling the ticket.
