A Victoria man was sentenced to 72 months in federal prison Monday for possession of child pornography.
Joshua Almeida, 33, pleaded guilty Dec. 2.
He will also serve 10 years supervised release, during which time his access to children and the Internet will be limited, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney's office.
Almeida must register as a sex offender.
The Victoria County Sheriff's Office determined in March 2012 that a computer that traced back to Almeida was offering child pornography. A search warrant was executed on his home Sept. 27, 2012, at which time several computers belonging to Almeida were seized, according to the news release.
A subsequent forensic search led to the discovery of the child pornography.
