West ties 2-2 with CC Moody

Victoria West boy's soccer tied 2-2 with Corpus Christi Moody on Friday night.

Seniors Ernesto Perez and Edward Rodriguez each scored a goal.

Both players also had an assist.

The Warriors (14-2, 6-1-3) have two district games left against Victoria East and Gregory-Portland next week, which will decide the District 59-4A seeding going into playoffs.

Gregory-Portland, the team that West is battling for first in district, tied with Rockport Fulton 1-1.

Moody is the third-place team in the district followed by East and Rockport-Fulton in a tie for fourth.

Friday night, East (5-4-1) beat C.C. Ray 3-1.

Michael Sierra-Hoffman, Gustavo Garza and Wyatt Fimbel each scored a goal for East.

Girls

Victoria East (14-4, 8-2) defeated C.C. Ray 1-0 on Friday night, as Kelsey Ferry turned in another shutout performance in goal.

Freshman Olivia Salas scored the goal for the Lady Titans and was assisted by Destinee Kueker.

Lauren Ragnow had 12 steals for the East defense.
