Kimbre Herrera, 23, of Port Lavaca, was transported to Citizens Medical Center after the vehicle she was in Saturday lost control and rolled over several times.

Herrera has since been later transferred to a San Antonio hospital, said Department of Public Safety Trooper and spokesman Gerald Bryant.

Herrera and the driver of the vehicle, Tara Gayle, 29, of Port Lavaca, were headed north on Lake Placedo Road when Gayle lost control of the vehicle, which hit a concrete embankment, became airborne and then flipped several times before coming to rest in a grassy area, said DPS Trooper Stephen Gray.

Gayle was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi by helicopter, where she was in critical condition Saturday. Gayle and Herrera's conditions were unknown Monday night.
