Growing a Crown of Thorns

Helen Kaiser sits on the front porch of her Victoria home, where she has successfully cultivated a Crown of Thorns plant, which is now in full bloom. The rich, red blooms mask the stem, which is covered in 1-inch thorns. The plant gets its name from the crown of thorns depicted in the images of Jesus at his crucifixion.
