Q:How did winning change your life?

A: I think winning and just the whole experience helped me with my study skills and having a wide vocabulary. As far as communicating with other people, it's helped me with my networking skills. It's a good foundation to have.

Q:How did winning affect the career you are in?

A: It helped me to practice having a goal and setting subgoals and in having the drive to want to achieve things.

Q:What advice would you give to this year's spellers?

A: Study hard. More than anything, have fun. Take what you can and have the most fun with it.

Q:Are you still a good speller?

A: Yes, to a certain degree. As far as what I know and continue to build on, it's a lifelong process.

Q:How far did you advance at the national spelling bee?

A: I went through the first few rounds. I passed the written part and one word on stage.

What prize did you win? I know I received a trophy and a dictionary. I also received a gift card for Encyclopaedia Britannica online.
