Can you spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?

If so, then you could probably go toe to toe with the Crossroads' best spellers.

For the past 25 years, the Victoria Advocate and Region III Education Service Center have hosted the regional spelling bee where the top two spellers from six area counties face off to determine the Crossroads' best speller.

The winner gets a free trip to Washington, D.C., for the national spelling bee.

In this silver anniversary year, the Advocate tracked down the 18 previous champions - some won more than once - to find out what they have been up to since winning.

This section is a celebration of their accomplishments.

This year's winner will be determined at the regional bee at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Symposium, Victoria College, 2200 E. Red River St.
