Had 140 cows and 23 bulls. The packer market was at the same level on a short supply.

The calf market was a little lower for the first time all year. This was fully expected a long time ago as a price correction was long overdue. Lighter calves were firm while 450 pounds and up were $2 to $3 cwt lower. Despite the undertone, in the market there were still some new highs in some classes of calves.

Packer bulls: heavyweights, $100-$129; lower grades, $80-$98.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$83; boning cows, $65-$90; canners and cutters, $82-$113; light and weak, $38-$53.

Palpated dry cows (26 head bred): $110-$144; 5 pairs: $1,450-$1,650

Compared to last week: The market this week continued strong. Better quality classes of calves and yearlings sold steady to stronger in al areas. The average of all calves sold was $250 higher.

Packer cows sold $2 to $3 higher - packer bulls sold $5 to $8 higher.

Total of approximately 280 head of cows and bulls.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $95-$161; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $81-$95; lightweight canner cows, $68-$81.
