Morning Study Club celebrated heart health month in February by wearing red to their club meetings. Some of the members wearing red at a recent meeting are, from left, Margaret Williams, Dottie Mints, Patricia Bruchmiller, Delores Tyng, Helen Williams, and, seated, Helen Knebel.

The Victoria Women's Club House was transformed to a place with a party atmosphere recently as the Morning Study Club entertained friends with a style show.

Chairwoman of the day, Betty Mercer, introduced Julie Allen from Dillard's, who narrated the lovely fashion show. Models for the show were members of Laureate Alpha Omicron sorority. They were Sue Lynn Hatcher, Frances Smith, Dorothy Koenig, Joanne Locher, Jean Evans and Margaret Williams, who also is a member of both organizations. Betty Mercer, who is a member of both Morning Study Club and Laureate Alpha Omicron, coordinated the event. Fashions appropriate for cruise or vacation wear, dinner attire, casual and sleep wear were worn by the models, much to the enjoyment of members and guests.

Virginia Shultz presided. Mary Gleinser led the collect and pledges to the flags. Charlene Abshire was the greeter, and hostesses were the members of the social committee. No business was conducted, except that the nominating committee presented the slate of officers for the 2014-15 year.

The next event for the club is the games party and country store which is a fundraiser for the Victoria College scholarships which the club awards every year.
