ROCKPORT - A pipeline owner is shutting off a natural gas production pipeline after it ruptured west of Copano Bay about noon Tuesday.

No injuries have been reported, according to an administrative assistant with the city of Rockport, and emergency services are at the scene.

The pipeline supplies natural gas to the Holiday Day Beach and Lamar area through Rockport. Residents and businesses in the area should be prepared to not have natural gas for an undetermined amount of time, the assistant said.

Call the City of Rockport Service Center at 361-790-1160 if you need additional information or assistance.
