Drunken drivers need to face tough penalties
Editor, the Advocate:
My niece's ex-husband was stopped in the state of Florida while driving drunk. His first time being caught, he paid a hefty fine, and his license was suspended.
Many months later, a two-car accident spun into his car. Yep. He was drunk and with no license, but the accident wasn't his fault. He was just in the wrong place at the right time. He spent 16 years in prison. He had plenty of time to reflect on his transgressions to his loss of income and family. Go for it, Stephen Tyler.
