Victoria County Sheriff's Office deputies continued searching Thursday night for five people who bailed out and went into the brush along U.S. Highway 59 North.
Two of the seven individuals, who are thought to be in the country illegally, were detained shortly after they bailed from a vehicle about 8:30 a.m. near Fox Road, said Sheriff T. Michael O'Connor.
A deputy tried to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation when the people jumped out and ran, he said.
The name of the two individuals captured were not available, and Border Patrol was expected to transfer them Thursday.
Deputies will continue patrolling the area, but O'Connor said it's possible they won't be found.
"It gets harder and harder," he said. Some may have ways to be picked up, so that makes it all the more difficult to find them, he added.
A deputy does patrol the area frequently, however, so they will remain on the lookout, he said.
"You can only be around for so many hours," he added.
