Best Local Band/Musician:

Clay Crockett and The Shotgun Riders

Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders plays mostly country, with the help of their two-man sound and lighting team, said Clay Crockett, lead singer, in an emailed message.

"We also like to venture off and play some classic rock, pop, oldies and pretty much anything else people request," Crockett said.

Advocate readers voted it the best band in Crossroads.

The four-member band performs primarily cover tunes at music venues, weddings and private events.

The band formed six years ago, and the current members have been playing together for four years.

"That makes all the difference when it comes to being a tight-sounding band," Crockett said.

This is the second consecutive year the band has won the honor.

"I'm not 100 percent sure why they voted for us again this year, but we are really flattered by it," Crockett said. "We are so lucky to have such great local support."
