City should let man keep his driveway

Editor, the Advocate:

Mr. Commerson's driveway should be OK as long as it doesn't interfere with traffic, infringe on his neighbors' property, affect taxes in his area and isn't an eyesore.

It seems that one's property in Victoria isn't one's own. You are allowed to live there as long as you sweep the porch, mow the lawn and pay the taxes on it.

A city can annex anything it wants to, it seems.

Eminent domain is a shrinking privilege.
