A report of a missing paraglider Friday evening sent deputies with the Victoria County Sheriff's Office on a three-hour search just north of Victoria.
The paraglider, however, called authorities after learning about the search to inform them that he was fine and had experienced mechanical issues.
Several emergency calls were made about 7 p.m., said Victoria County Sheriff T. Michael O'Connor, in which people said they saw a red parachute descending rapidly. Deputies searched an area northwest of Victoria near U.S. Highway 77 North with the assistance of the Department of Public Safety. The search ended after 10 p.m., about the time when the paraglider called authorities.
