St. Joseph High School junior Bethany Bigham was nominated to attend the American Legion Auxiliary's Texas Girls State this summer. She will have the opportunity to learn about the duties, privileges and responsibilities of American citizenship. The conference gives students an opportunity to learn the problems of government by performing the same duties as real officeholders in the everyday world. The one-week program will take place at the Texas Lutheran University in Seguin.
