Jaguars advance to tournament semifinal

LYNN, Mass. - UHV scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally for a 3-2 win over Cal State-San Marcos at the Association of Independent Institutions Baseball Championship on Sunday at Fraser Field.
The Jaguars improved to 22-30 and moved into a semifinal game against LSU-Alexandria at noon Monday.
If UHV wins, it will play for the championship at 3 p.m. Monday against Georgia Gwinnett.
A win would also secure a berth for the Jaguars in a NAIA regional tournament.
UHV trailed 2-0 heading to the sixth inning but tied the game on a double by Kyle Bludau and an infield single by Stephen Shorkey.
The Jaguars scored the decisive run on a single by Robert Zaragoza.
Andre Del Bosque pitched four innings of one-hit relief to earn the win.
Zaragoza and Ryan Suescun each had two hits for UHV.
