State officials investigate shooting in Matagorda County
The state's top law enforcement agency is investigating a shooting in Matagorda County that involved a sheriff's deputy and a 21-year-old man.
Many details about the shooting were not released Saturday by the Matagorda County Sheriff's Office, but in a department news release, officials said the injured people were taken to an area hospital, where they received medical treatment.
An investigation is ongoing by the Texas Rangers and other agencies with the full cooperation of the Matagorda County Sheriff's Office, according to the news release.
The shooting occurred about 2 a.m. Friday on state Highway 60 about 2 miles south of Farm-to-Market Road 2668. The location is south of Bay City.
