Victoria police issued a citation to a motorist who drove through the front wall of a fast-food restaurant Friday night.

Tyrone Hodge, 18, of Victoria, was driving a blue 2005 Chevrolet Colorado when he turned too quickly into the parking lot of Taco Bell, 7902 N. Navarro St., and continued up a curb, over a sidewalk and into the building, said senior police officer Michael Leet.

The incident was not alcohol-related, said Sgt. Adam Nieto with the Victoria Police Department. Hodge received a citation because he was traveling too fast.

The crash occurred about 11:30 p.m., and the driver was not injured, Leet said. Several customers inside the restaurant, which was recently remodeled, also were not injured.

City officials were called to the scene to inspect the structural damage.
