Had 128 cows and 21 bulls. The packer market was fully steady with last week. Prospects for rain slowed receipts and market stayed strong.

The calf market was strong across the board and higher in a lot of the middle weight classes. Prospects for rain have raised the level of optimism and buyers are rewarding quality calves.

Packer bulls: Heavyweights, $100-$124; lower grades, $80-$100.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$83; boning cows, $65-$89; canners and cutters, $82-$106; light and weak, $38-$50.

Compared to last week: Better quality and better conditioned calves and yearlings continued to sell fully steady and strong in all weight brackets. Fleshy new crop calves seeing a little discount. Demand overall was very good.
