For the last four months, Victoria East High School junior Willord Simmons has worked on perfecting his composition, "Relentlessly Peaceful."

Willord, 16, will be conducting the Victoria school district orchestra Tuesday night as part of Music for Mass Consumption, featuring the Crossroads Community Band, Community Chorus, VISD orchestra and a special fourth- and fifth-grade VISD choir.

"I'm excited and anxious," Willord said. "It's all so surreal."

Some of the works to be featured Tuesday were arranged by VISD fine arts director Ken Peach, including "We Are the People of the 21st Century," "For the Beauty of the Earth," "Amazing Grace" and "The Saints' Hallelujah."
