Complainers are ones giving town bad name

Editor, the Advocate:

It seems that it all began when the Victoria Advocate newspaper blazed out a headline, "Goliad's Million Dollar Mess."

So District Attorney Michael Sheppard called in the Texas Rangers to investigate. Eventually, the Texas Rangers came and conducted an investigation at the Goliad City Hall of all of its financial transactions. When they finished, they reported that no money was missing, no laws had been broken, and everything was in order.

Some persons were not satisfied, including Sheppard. At this point, I wish to state that in all of my 86 years of life, I have never before read that the Texas Rangers didn't do a good job. I can probably understand the two persons not knowing what an investigation is all about, but Sheppard disappoints me. He called for another investigation from another source, which was conducted, and so far, nothing has come from it.

So these people who are saying Goliad finances are in bad shape are the ones who are giving Goliad a bad name.
