Goliad student earns Eagle Scout rank

Christopher C. Gutierrez, a member of Boy Scout Troop 60 of Goliad, earned the rank of Eagle Scout on March 17. This is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. Christopher began scouting as a Tiger Cub in 2002 and earned the Arrow of Light award as a Cub Scout, which is the highest award a Cub Scout may earn.  He completed his service project for the rank of Eagle with the help of his friends and fellow scouts and scout leaders.  His project involved installing a pathway to allow all-weather access to the William Rubio Carbajal Historical marker located at the Goliad High School.  Landscaping with native plants was also included in the project. Christopher is the son of Carlos and Irma Gutierrez of Goliad.  He is the grandson of the late Carlos and Consuelo Gutierrez and the late Ernesto and Natividad Sauceda
