Man wants kids to leave him, his dog alone

Editor, the Advocate:

It started almost a year ago. When I was walking my dog at the park in Cuero, an irritating little kid asked me three times if he could pet my dog. I tried to ignore him and deafen his squeaky voice out of my mind but failed. I said, "No, you cannot pet my dog because he might bite." The kid became irate and began to bang on a trash can.

What I really wanted to say was, "I do not want you around my dog because kids nowadays are rude, obnoxious and undisciplined." I do not want my well-trained dog to be influenced by kids who cannot control themselves and are not trained properly by their parents. I also wanted to say there are alligators in that lake over there next to the golf course at the Cuero Park. And on the golf course, there are water traps, and I have seen alligators in those water traps. It would be a shame if an obnoxious small person wandered into that lake and was discovered by an alligator that has not eaten in a long time.

Please, keep your kids away from me and my dog. Do not allow your kids to ask me if they can pet my dog. I take my dog to the park to relax and recreate. So how can I relax if a bunch of kids are bothering me and asking me stupid questions? How can I relax and be happy when kids are around acting like fools, upsetting me and my dog?

I do not like kids. I do not like you. Stay away from me. Do not bother me. And, most importantly, stay away from my dog. On three different occasions, in the same park in the same town within a year, four different, unrelated children asked me if they could pet my dog. It is becoming a pattern - a problem - and I want it to stop.
