100% OF PRECINCTS REPORTING,Winner,

CALHOUN852 (65%)

BOWMAN462 (35%)

Pat Calhoun won the Republican nomination for county judge Tuesday night.

David Bowman and Pat Calhoun tied in the March primary election with 489 votes each. About 400 more votes were cast in the runoff, said Kenneth Buelter, Goliad County Republican chairman.

Neither Bowman nor Calhoun could be reached for comment Tuesday night.

In an earlier interview, Calhoun said, "I don't agree with a lot of the things David has done, and that's why I put my hat in the ring."

Bowman, the incumbent, helped to bring in a natural gas processing plant with a tax abatement during his time. He also worked with the city and school district to get the entire county on the same emergency alert system.

Calhoun will face Democrat Ernest Alaniz in the Nov. 4 general election.
