Parents need to be sure student has money
Editor, the Advocate:
It is a shame to have to throw away food because a child does not have enough money to pay for their lunch at school. But the parent should be in charge - responsible and caring enough to make sure there is enough money in the child's account to cover lunches or send a lunch with the child. The school system has rules it must follow; it is not a day care service.
Parents, when eating at a restaurant, don't you make sure you have enough money to afford eating out before ordering your meal? You must do the same for your children at school.
